Essure® Procedure

A non-surgical permanent birth control, Essure is a spring coil that is inserted into your fallopian tubes through the body’s natural pathways. There is no cutting. For the next three months, body tissue grows into the coils, blocking the fallopian tubes and preventing fertilization of the egg. During this time you must use another form of birth control. After three months we perform a confirmation test, a special type of x-ray to confirm that your tubes are completely blocked and that you can rely on Essure for birth control.
